Ballerina Dreams

“What have you stopped yourself from doing for fear of failure?”

A question I ask others. Uncovering authentic passions and genuine interests - things that would set the soul on fire. The answer unveiling what could be, what would be, if self-made restrictions did not exist. I hear really big goals, wild dreams, a world where nothing is out of reach. I feel inspiration. I see confidence. A radiant light shines.

This is how we are meant to be. Unshackled. Free. Lit.

“What have you stopped yourself from doing for fear of failure?”

A question I asked myself. Uncovering authentic passions and genuine interests - things that would set my soul on fire. The answer?

Put on ballet slippers and dance. Dance like the graceful well-trained ballerina that I once was. Dance like the young girl in my memory who was strong enough for toe shoes at 7 and hand picked for a duo at 13. Dance like the young woman who practiced rigorously to pass each Cecchetti exam. Dance like the confident performer who stepped on stage in front of hundreds of people year after year. Dance like I belong. Dance like I’m that ballerina.

So I did.

I slipped my feet into an old pair of ballet slippers and took a class. My heart remembered. My body knew. Such an incredible feeling to shut down the fear and own my dreams.

I feel lit!
