WHAT IS THE FLY BUDDHA? The Fly Buddha is an inspirational lifestyle brand created to spread empowerment, awareness and love. With messages such as “Warrior” and “Get Lit”, our clothing and free community events serve as a reminder to all to find inner strength in the face of adversity and “Shine On”!
the inspiration behind Tfb While fighting cervical cancer in 2012, Sara connected with the Cancer Support Community of Redondo Beach, CA. Their wide range of free resources, including individual counseling sessions, focused support groups and yoga classes, helped her discover the “Warrior” within that she needed to stay strong and determined. It was within this community that Sara experienced, first hand, the power behind the collective. She knew that when she recovered she would create something that brought people together, raised consciousness and encouraged greatness.
the fly buddha foundation At the start of 2015, Sara founded The Fly Buddha Foundation, a nonprofit that assists women with gynecological cancer in the preservation of their fertility. Through financial assistance and community resources, she hopes to create a possibility where one would otherwise not exist; the possibility for a woman to have her own biological child. Sara is grateful that she was able to freeze her eggs prior to treatment through the process of IVF and feels strongly about giving this gift to as many women as possible.
WHAT IS THE MISSION of THE FLY BUDDHA? Assisting women with gynecological cancer in the preservation of their fertility. Through financial assistance and community resources, we strive to create a possibility where one would otherwise not exist; the possibility for a woman to have her own biological child.
“GET LIT” With THE FLY BUDDHA Every 3rd Saturday of the month, The Fly Buddha puts on a free* yoga event on the Redondo Beach Pier called "Get Lit with The Fly Buddha". Instructors from local studios lead a 60 minute all level yoga class while the DJ sends great beats across the octagon! Events also include a TFB pop-up shop, inspirational stations, and the incredible opportunity to celebrate warriors alike. *A $5 donation to support The Fly Buddha Foundation is suggested.
